I was really craving fish and chips, so this was a huge disappointment. I was very close to calling the takeaway, but I was so tired that I just couldn't. I never thought I'd be writing a negative review about Queens Chippy because I've always had great experiences there. Their dinner masala fish is absolutely delicious, and the customer service is always fantastic. However, on this occasion, I have to raise a food quality concern. The fish itself wasn't raw, but the batter was clearly undercooked. It was soft, slimy, and not crunchy at all. It was also extremely greasy, which made me wonder if the oil wasn't hot enough or if the fish had been taken out of the fryer too early. The chips were also undercooked and didn't seem properly cooked through. To make matters worse, the curry sauce was so watery that it barely resembled a sauce. Unfortunately, I ended up throwing the meal away because I couldn't eat it. It completely spoiled my Friday night takeaway, which was really disappointing. I genuinely hate leaving negative feedback, especially for a takeaway that I normally rate so highly, but I feel it's important to mention when something isn't right. I really hope this was just a one-off because Queens Chippy is usually excellent, and I'd love to see them maintain the high standards I've always known them for.
